Angela Mendelson has always had a passion for helping others. Currently she is a Service Coordinator in Frederick, Maryland for people with developmental disabilities, helping to connect them to services in the community and making sure their needs are being met. She has spent the last 8 years doing work in that area, but it started as a high school student many years before her professional career.
Angela has her Undergraduate Degree in Family Science from University of Maryland and a dual master’s degree in management of Non-profit and Associations and an MBA from University of Maryland University College. Angela volunteers with her church youth group and has participated in many mission trips both stateside and in Mexico. Angela has been married to her husband Eric for 4 years and her son Parker joined the family in March 2019, Angela also has her original babies; dogs Enzo and Jack. Angela enjoys quilting and has taught herself through YouTube and trial and error. Angela wanted to be a part of SAILS because the mission is so powerful and targets a population of people where there is such a need for support. The journey to start her family was one that was difficult as they struggled with infertility and often felt isolated but finding support groups, talking about the journey and being open made it much easier to navigate. Angela hopes that her involvement with this organization will allow her to continue her passion for helping others by providing support and awareness to another population where the need is great and often the support services are hard to find. |
